so i've got this idea, and a bit of information, of creating this sort of devcart for the nes. but not any normal devcart. a devcart with, say, a serial or paralell cable sticking out of the top to connect to a pc. through software, an nes rom with the ines header stripped and split in the chr and prg roms (or something like that) could then be sent to the cart via the cable. then, any nes rom could conceivably be played on the nes, with of course a few setbacks (ie saving to the sram and whatnot, unless i could implement that as well) anyway, i dont want to have to program eeproms or flash roms because i want to make this as easy for a novice to sue as possible. one i dea i had was to screw the whole serial cable idea and design a cart similar to the snes's super gameboy cart. but instead of inserting gb games, you'd insert something like a compactflash or similar like digital camera card into the cart. the card woould have the rom and all stored on it and the cart could somehow...i dont know, im rambling, but anyway, is this (using a cable connected to the cart) possible? or would a seperate device need to be created to write to the cart or something?
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks geoff
