i have 2 questions: 1)how do i edit new instruments? i can change instruments in the center column but i can't change them in the editor.
2)when i save a song and load it later, only the triangle channel plays. why is that?

i have tried finding the answers but i'm at a loss. please help.

Press the asterisk key * to move the cursor over to the instrument and order editors.

The volume in the instrument editor is set to zero by default, but the triangle channel isn't affected by it since it has practically no volume control.

well, i can switch between order, pattern and instrument editors. what i meant was, when you open nt2 up, you start on instrument 01. how do you change which number instrument you're editing in the instrument editor? i thought it said to use the " / " key but it didn't work.

do i have to set a volume parameter for the square channels in the pattern editor? sorry, i think i didn't state my questions very clearly last time.
thanks.

OK, I see now. Use the \ key to increment the instrument. (the other slash) And the ' apostrophe key will decrement it.

You don't need to set the volume in the pattern editor. In the instrument editor, enable the 'envelope fix' and give it a volume, then you can either enable the 'hold note' or set the time length. That should fix any volume oddities.
