I would be interested in the final thing if its cheap enough, but i can't help with design unfortunately my hardware knowledge does't extend to actual design of boards (electrical bit and bobs etc), but i would like to suggest that the memory size perhaps does't need to be bigger than the largest home made game (i'm not sure of this size)(not some hacked game), though if it would make much difference 40kbyte would probably be ok for must uses.
