Hehe, I think you all misunderstood my point. I was complaining about the lack of the EQUALITY operator (i.e. "MyVariable = $xx") for defining your memory usage rather than the .DEFINE operator. Even though my memory was lacking and I mistankenly said ".DEF" instead of ".DEFINE", my complaint was about not being able to use "=" in place of .DEFINE, not about wishing for another ".DEFINE" directive that's four letters shorter! :)
But like I said, I could live without it. I'm considering taking up WLA-DX again for our VHDL console project in school, but I'm still worried about wether I'll eventually get stuck with not being able to do certain "ugly" things because of the sophisticated memory model... =/
