According to Caustik's resume, he did develop the emulator portion for this project. The following text has been extracted from his resume:
CNES [Project Manager, Sole Developer] (C/C++/Assembly/Machine Code {6502, x86}) Nintendo “NES” system emulator. CPU and PPU emulation via dynamic recompilation and interpretation. At the peak of this project, the emulator was capable of running “Mapper 0” based games at 999 frames per second. Implemented a DirectX based window manager for emulation display output. Some builds actually take NES 6502 machine code and translate into C source for static recompilation, with amazing results.
You know something... I just wish this project wasn't dead :)
